Seeing Kayangan Lake And Other Island Hopping Destinations In Coron
January 28, 2015
Island hopping in Coron is one of the activities you shouldn't miss when visiting the place. Lots of tour agencies will offer you island hopping tours and it's really not hard to find a boat that you can hire. Just go to the dock and negotiate with the boatmen in the area. It is ideal to leave Coron town at around 8:00-8:30 in the morning so that you will have more time in visiting island hopping destinations.
There are different sets of islands that you can visit but we opted for Tour A since it includes Kayangan Lake, the most iconic picture of Coron. Tour A includes: CYC Beach, Coral Garden, Atwayan Beach, Hidden Lagooon, and Kayangan Lake.
If you are going to hire a boat, here is a list of the entrance fees for each destination:
After snorkeling in CYC for around an hour, we left for Coral Garden.
It was also funny that there was a cockfight in there. I wonder how the hell did these cocks got in here and are there any inhabitants in that island?
This is my first view of the actual Kayangan Lake
It is deemed as the cleanest land water and I have no reservations for that. No matter how deep it is, you can still see the bottom. It was equally amazing that our tour guide was able to reach the bottom by just using a snorkeling mask and fins. This photo was also taken from underwater of Kayangan Lake but I still looked pretty visible which shows how clean and clear the water is.
There was also a raft in there that we used to roam around the place without tiring ourselves from swimming.
I was amazed that the water wasn't as salty as much as a sea water was. According to our guide, it was really a lake so water comes from the rain. But that is just hard to believe. Haha.
After swimming around, we had to leave and this was our last picture at the place.
After approximately 30minutes, we were near the dock in Coron town. The sun was still up and we were supposed to witness the beautiful sunset in Mt. Tapyas. Unfortunately, we were so sick that we just decided to go back to our room and rest for the next day.

CYC Beach
CYC Beach stand for Coron Youth Club. According to our guide, there was a snorkeling area there. I wasn't able to roam around the area because I was really sick when we went there but my boyfriend managed to take some pictures. The boat that we rode throughout the trip |

Coral Garden
Coral garden is said to be one of the best place to do snorkeling during an island hopping trip.Atwayan Beach
This is where we took our lunch for the day. The food was prepared by our boatmen who were warm and helpful to their guests. The island has nipa huts where tourist can take some time to rest after eating. It was also funny that there was a cockfight in there. I wonder how the hell did these cocks got in here and are there any inhabitants in that island?
Hidden Lagoon
This lagoon has very calm waters and you can see the white sand at the bottom. It looks like a really large swimming pool. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take a picture of the place.Kayangan Lake
Kayangan lake can be reached by hiking some stairs for around 10-mminutes and then descending onto the other side. But before you will reach Kayangan Lake, there is a mini cave that you will pass by. It is actually where you will find the iconic view of Kayangan Lake. This is my first view of the actual Kayangan Lake
