DIY Dumaguete

August 6, 2015

Dumaguete is a small town where you can reach various places by just walking around. You can also opt to ride a tricycle and reach places in less than 5 minutes. Coming from the airport, just ride a tricycle that will take you to the town proper.

Things to do in Dumaguete:

1. Dine at Sans Rival Bistro

Located at Rizal Blvd., Corner San Jose St., this place is known for its Sans Rival and Sylvanas. If you want to bring "pasalubong" for your friends, better reserve ahead of time as they run out of supply early. They also have a branch in Robinson's Dumaguete.

 2. Eat at Panda Ice Cream

This place is known for its fried ice cream. Go and try it.

3. Take a picture at "I <3 Dumaguete" in Roxas Blvd.

4. Try the suman and tsokolate at Painitan

A favorite among locals, this will surely warm your stomachs and fill it.

5. Buy some goods at Dumaguete Public Market

Various things can be found in the public market. You might even find a souvenir that you can take home.

6. Try the newly baked Piaya at Bongbong's Robinsons Dumaguete

We were lucky that when we were in Robinson's Dumaguete, we passed by Bongbong's and they just created some Piaya. It cost PHP5.

7. Eat at Neva's Pizza

Pardon me for not being able to take a picture of the food there. It was just so delicious we forgot to take a picture of it and just devoured it.

8. Offer prayers at Dumaguete Cathedral

9. Visit Campanario De Dumaguete

10. Take a tour around Silliman University

Alternatively you may visit nearby towns for other activities like dolphin watching and swimming with sea turtles.

Where to stay:

I recommend that you stay at Vintage Inn (09165147298) which is right in front of Dumaguete Public Market. I recommend that you go reserve ahead of time as they get full easily. Here are their room rates.
