DIY Camp Netanya: Santorini of Batangas

 July 26, 2015

There is this unsuspecting place which is around 2-3 hours away from Manila where you can bask in the sun and feel like you are somewhere in Greece but comes with an inexpensive price. Where is it? It's in Anilao, Batangas and the place is called Camp Netanya.

Things to do in Camp Netanya:

1.  Snorkel at the beach

Anilao is one of the best snorkeling sites near Manila so grab the chance to see the beauty of the underwater world here. Snorkeling masks and fins can be borrowed for free from the office.

2. Enjoy the infinity pool until sunset

Their pool is beautiful and the depth ranges from 1ft up to more than 6ft. Kids and adults alike can really enjoy the pool.

3. Use a kayak or pedal boat

Their kayak or pedal boats are located near the stairs just before going down the beach. Guests are allowed to use these from 6am-6pm.

4. Take a picture around the place

What is the point of going to a beautiful place like this if you wouldn't take a souvenir photo of yourself or the place itself? Just expect a lot of climbing and going down of stairs.

In a nutshell:

I can say that the place is well-designed and very picturesque. The facade, rooms and pool are already finished but the first two floors from the parking area still needs to be done. I had a good time but it would have been better if there were more shower rooms in the resort and chairs or tables for day tour guests. Lockers would also be very beneficial for the guests.

Will I recommend the place? I'd still say yes. Why? Because it is a really aesthetically pleasing resort where you can relax but does not have to cost a pretty penny.

    1. Hi Ms. Clarisze. We went there for a daytour and no downpayment was asked from us. I just texted them days ahead of time, told them my intention to go there on a given date and nagreply naman kaagad sila just to confirm na noted na ang reservation ko. Pero after that confirmation, wala na silang reply sa mga queries ko like where to eat and how to get there, etc. They don't answer calls as well.

Norma Concepcion is like the manager of the place but nakapangalan ung Camp Netanya kay Jose Jimenez. As in pag nagbigay sila ng official receipt, name niya ang naka-print doon.

    2. I think what's important is that you keep the confirmation (like take a screenshot of the bank transaction or text) that you made a deposit on their account then show it to them on your agreed date. Then remind them like 5 days prior to your scheduled date to visit them. Lastly, do not forget to get an official receipt from them.

    4. Hi Myron. That is the updated number from Camp Netanya. Again, they do not answer calls. I just texted them one afternoon and they replied right away. Others are also experiencing the same problem with Camp Netanya not responding to them.

  2. We went last Saturday (Aug.29, 2015) knowing our reservation is all good. But we are welcomed with a closed gate and by three security men. They said that it is now under new management and they are not authorized to let anyone enter the premise.
We tried contacting the previous owner but we didn't get answer. We were able to find one of the previous employee. He said that it was closed 4 days prior, all the staff are not allowed to have access to their database anymore. So good luck to those who have reservations up to December of this year.

    1. Hi Ice. Yes, a day tour is enough to enjoy the place. It's not that big din naman kasi and the activities are just basically, swimming, kayaking and snorkeling.
